Hodigitria or Putevodytelnytsa (Greek ????????? - Pointing Way) - one of the most common types of iconographic image of the Virgin in Orthodox iconography. The Virgin is depicted with lad-Christ, seated at the hands of God, he blesses with his right hand and left - holds a scroll, which corresponds to the iconographic type of the image of Christ Pantocrator (Almighty). From the dogmatic point of view the main content of the image - a phenomenon in the world of Heavenly king and court and worship royal babies. According to legend the first icon of the Mother of God "Hodigitria" St. Luke was writing.

Martinchuk Vasily Myronovych - was born in 1959 in Ukraine.
In 1978 he graduated from the Leningrad Art College.
In 1991 he graduated from the Lviv Academy of arts and crafts. Member of the Belarusian Union of Artists.
Member of the Union of Polish artists in Belarus.
Solo exhibitions were held in Paris, Limoges, Bialystok, Gdansk, 10 solo exhibitions in Grodno.
His works are in private collections in Japan, France, Belarus, Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Holland, Germany, Italy, England
He currently lives and works in Grodno.
